Privacy Policy

Nahava ("we," "us") is a private app that helps parents, grandparents, nannies, and other caregivers of toddlers find nearby events, meet people in real life, and stay in touch with a small circle of friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored in encrypted, hashed form — we never see your actual password). If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive your name and email from that provider.

Profile you provide. Your display name, and optionally your neighborhood, zip code, nap windows, and details about your children (first name and birthday). You choose what to enter, and you can edit or remove it at any time.

Location. With your permission, we use your device location to show events and places near you and estimate distances, and to let you "check in" at a venue so friends can see where you are. If you turn on automatic check-in, we use location in the background to notice when you arrive at or leave a known venue. We do not track or store a continuous history of your movements. Location is only shared with your friends as a check-in at a specific venue — never as your live position — and it disappears when you leave or check out. You can use the whole app with location turned off.

Your social graph. Friend connections you create (via friend codes), friend requests, and anyone you block.

Content you create. Hangouts, events you add to your planner, venues you save or "like," reviews you write, check-ins, photos you add to shared event albums, and messages you send to friends.

Notifications. Records of app notifications (friend requests, invitations, messages) so we can show them to you.

How we use your information

We use the above only to operate Nahava: to show you nearby events, power your planner and calendar sync, connect you with friends you've added, deliver messages and notifications, host shared event albums, and show friends your venue check-ins. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who can see your information

Nahava is a closed network. Your profile details, check-ins, hangouts, photos, and messages are visible only to friends you have accepted or to the attendees of a shared event — not to the public and not to strangers. Blocking someone removes them from your network and hides you from them.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the app:

• Supabase hosts our database, file storage, and sign-in.
• Apple, Google, and Facebook provide optional social sign-in.
• Apple Maps / Google Maps render the map and location features on your device.

These providers process data only to provide their service to us.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account → Delete my account), which permanently removes your profile, children's details, check-ins, hangouts, photos, messages, and friend connections from our systems. You may also request deletion by emailing us.

Children's information

Nahava is intended for adults (parents and caregivers), not for use by children. Any information about a child (such as a first name or birthday) is entered by the caregiver, for their own planning, and is visible only to their accepted friends. Nahava is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, hashed passwords, database access rules that restrict data to you and your accepted friends, and private storage with short-lived signed links for photos — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Your rights and choices

• Turn location permission on or off at any time in your device settings.
• Turn automatic check-in off and check in manually instead.
• Edit or remove your profile and children's details in the app.
• Block or remove friends; report content or people that violate our guidelines.
• Access or delete your personal data — delete your entire account from the app, or email us to request a copy or deletion. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data, which we honor.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be noted in the app.
